Recently I have been learning about the oriental and chiropractic systems as systemic sciences about internal flows of energy and thereby mastery over the inner processes of our being in today’s disease and worry-ridden world.
Yogis tell us that the chakras lie along with the spinal cord, that mooladhara lies in the perineum and the other chakras move upward towards sahasrara at the apex of evolution and consciousness. Neuropsychology shows centres in the brain, stretching upward from the medulla oblongata to the pineal area which corresponds to the classical description of the chakras as told by yogis. Anatomical studies show that the vital nerve plexes and endocrine organs within the body, spine and brain correspond to the chakras.
Dr. Hiroshi Motoyoama from the International Association for Religion and Parapsychology worked on proving the existence of nadis and acupuncture meridians as well as the chakras. Motoyoma points out that the concept of triple heater meridian in acupuncture and the five pranas of the body in Yoga are almost identical. In acupuncture, the lower heater, the area below the navel corresponds to the yogic system’s samana between the diaphragm and navel, and the upper heater corresponds with sushumna nadi and the conception vessel running along the front midline of the body is used in Kundalini Yoga. Several meridians start of finish in chakra locations.
There’s no doubt that yogic, chiropractic and oriental systems have similarities and can be integrated with light, PEMF or any other energy treatment. I believe in the long run, regular, sincere practice and proper guidance by a competent teacher will certainly allow achieving a state of balance and protection.
